    Hanging file system?

I'm trying to remember where I saw a particular system for hanging file folders in a file drawer. I'd describe it as a Blum Metafile as made by Veritas. Like the Metafile, it has fixed rails which run front-to-back at the sides of the drawer, and adjustable rails which run side-to-side and hang on the front-to-back rails. Depending on how you adjust it, you can use it as a lateral file or a normal one, and you can file letter-size paper or legal-size. Unlike the Metafile, it is made of upscale materials -- brass and anodized aluminum and such.

Does this ring a bell with anybody?

Nope, Chris, Rockler carries the Blum Metafile stuff. It is functional but pedestrian. The system I've seen is considerably nicer.
