I liked Malcolm Tibbetts book the best. I'd start with his book - it has a lot of how to and pictures to go along with the descriptions.

I will second Jim's recommendation. It's one of those books I keep referring to more than any other. Malcolm also has a couple of DVD's out, which are on my current wish list.

Name of the book is "The Art of Segmented Woodturning", available from Amazon or from Malcolm (www.tahoeturner.com).

If at first you don't succeed, look in the trash for the instructions.

I'll also recommend Malcomb's book. And if you buy it through his web site, he'll autograph if for you.

    Dennis,
Hands down, Malcolm's book. There is a bonus also. He is as nice a man and easily approachable as any really great artist that I know.

Another for Malcom's book. The best part of the book is the man behind it. I had a few questions and he got right back to me and got me pointed in the right direction again.

Although I would recommend Malcolms book. There are other things to recommend. That is Malcolms videos. They make the book come to life.
