    Crotch black gum

    This has some nice color in it. The opening is the part where the limbs start to separate, so decided to burn it. Measures 10 x 5, buffed sealcoat finish. Thanks for looking.

    Mike - you have a gift of being able to see what a piece of wood has to offer and then be able to develop that aspect of the wood! Love your work! This is some very nice looking wood but once again - it is the form that makes this piece a winner! That ... and your photography! Thanks for sharing!

    Mike it would be impossible to decide on your "best" piece. But this has to be right there in the top of the class. You nailed this one with the orientation and I really like how the burned edge turned out.
