Finish on TFWW Bowsaw Handles?

Does anyone know what finish comes on the handle and knob in the TFWW bowsaw kit?

The kit came home with me a couple of months ago and the saw is now ready to go except the finish.

I would write Joel, but its the weekend . . . a man's gotta take the day off sometime.

I could be wrong, but I believe they arrive unfinished. I also cannot find out whether the entire bow saw is also unfinished, but my preference would be unfinished - I ordered one just yesterday.

I use straight Boiled Linseed Oil on mine.

Ahhh - not the first time today I was wrong. I cannot wait for my bow saw to arrive. I wonder if shellac, or maybe a clear lacquer, then... Of course, I have been wrong before!

IIRC Laquer, topped with a little wax.

I am looking forward to receiving my bow saw... It will be a first for me; but for hand-cut dovetails, the regular coping saw was not optimum to remove the bulk of the waste.
