Under your "window" drop down menu there should be "dockers" Under dockers there is a fillet/scallop/chamfer. select this and then use the fillet.

1. draw the square or rectange with the rectangle tool
2. select the pick tool and click on the object
3. the corner nodes will change from filled squares to arcs with arrowpoints on each end
4. select the shape tool and the nodes will change to bigger filled squares a each of the 4 corners
5. drag one of the filled square nodes either horizontally or vertically to the required degree of curve.
you now have a square or rectange with curved edges
