Need adapter for shop vac hose

    Hello,

I have a small shop vac that has a 1 3/4 inch diameter hose. My router table has a 2 1/2 inch diameter vacuum port. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter that will allow me to connect these together? Does anyone sell adapters like this?

Or is this just a stupid question, and the answer is: “just make one out of something!”

    Thanks,
    Louis

Number 451 here if you don't have something lying around that can be rigged.

I have a couple from Sears that I use. They are made of rubber, and you can cut it down to fit.

I believe Sears has them or they can be found at Rockler.com or Peachtree.com.

    Got mine @ BORG. $4.50.

I'd upgrade the shopvac, though to a 2" one . DC with the smaller svac will suck - er, WON'T suck - er, you know what I mean...

I just make what I need on the band saw using whatever is laying around. Faster than running to the store.

    Plumbing

I had a similar problem and I found that in the plumbing section there are flexible rubber connectors in different sizes that work well.
