    Wood Fired Boiler

Going to pick up the copper pipe & fittings tonight to start hooking up the wood fired boiler I bought last year for the shop. It's a smaller sized unit with a 50" and a 30" forced air radiators like they have in schools (narrow wall mount). I'll be taking pictures (Tyler) and asking questions as this endeavor progresses. Any boiler makers out there?

    Boiler makers

I thought Boiler makers were something to quench your thirst !!
I was once a Boiler Inspector following the ASME codes for an Insurance company. I have lots of experience with installing boilers in homes and small business's. Mostly heating boilers like the type you are installing. Not WOOD fired but in general they are pretty much all the same. If you have specific questions, I'll see' what I can do to answer them.

I would say that testing the system with air pressure before you put water in might save you some ageravation. I would also suggest you put some sort of purge piping in so that you don't have too much trouble getting the air out of the system prior to start up.

I don't think you have too much to worry about.

    Best of luck, Jim

No, they are a football powerhouse that many Midwestern teams will have to reckon with this year!!

I've got a friend with a large exterior wood-fired boiler. Right now he has it running a heat-exchanger in his forced-air furnace, but he is in the process of converting to radiant floor tubing. I know he's had problems with the draft fan thermostat, but I can't recall the brand of the boiler.
