    Redwood burl bowl

This bowl I did similar to the madrone burl in the other post. It measures 10-1/4" by 4-1/8" by1/4". Finished with Antique oil and buffed.

    Really beautiful work Frank.

Do you engrave your signature in the bottom? If so what do you use?

    Dolon,
Yes I engrave my pieces. I use one of those cheap little engravers you use for marking tools.

Very Nice! I love the look of it!

I see we're not too far apart. They have been doing some work on the 101 freeway and cutting down redwoods. I've been tempted to "fake a flat" and scavenge for burl!

    Peter,
It's been a couple of months since I've been down to Santa Rosa, are they still working on the freeway? I need to get to woodcraft and stock up on sandpaper.

They will be working on it forever. Woodcraft, yes I should just sign my salary check over to them every two weeks.
