    Rustic/Western Entertainment Center Completed

Well...she's finally completed and delivered, they loved it!
Pictures aren't too good you get the idea, my sister is sending me a full on shot after they got it in their house.

The vertical rustic rods are ballasters I cut and painted.

    Wow, Beautiful Work Travis.

I took my trailer shop of Old Tools to Texas one time to visit one of my girls. And while there I made her a Timber Framed Miniature Barn Entertainment Center. Sure got a lot of stares from neighbors while I was making shavings under the carport at their duplex.

To my surprise all the local lumberyard had was Clear SYP.

Hand tools are very modern- they are all cordless
NORMAL is just a setting on the washing machine.

    Great job Travis!

Can you tell me how you made the Texas stars or were they purchased somewhere? What bit did you use for the detail on the raised panels? What finish did you use? What is the small detail at the top, center that appears to be the ends of dowels? Is it decorative or functional or both?

    Again, an impressive, fun piece.

Not to steal the thunder from the project, but welcome aboard Scott!

    Thanks all!

Scott, I used briwax "rustic pine"
The small pieces at the top are simply rust painted hole plugs, just an accent (bolt like)

I actually got the star rosettes at Lowes for like $5ea. I've also seen them for sale on line in a few places but they were fairly expensive.

Maybe someday I'll have a CNC machine!

The door trim pieces are actually a mix I'd have to look at them again but essentially it's like a deep picture frame trim w/ a rabbet on the inside where the pine boards sit flush.

Thanks for the welcome Ben. There's a lot of exceptional woodworking and knowledge on this site. I'm getting some inspiration for sure.

Travis, I appreciate the info. I'll keep an eye out for the stars when I'm in Lowes the next time. At first glance, I thought the doors were raised but now I see they are framed/trimmed. Again, a wonderful piece you've built. Looks like you have enough lumber on the floor behind it for a few more projects...
