I don't think I have ever seen anyone turn out such a good enigma on their first try. I just started using a cheapo lathe on long-term loan last year. I enjoy using it and have made some chair parts and a finial. You and I could probably both use a live demo from someone who realy knows what they are doing.

    Duane, nice find!

There is a whole world of info about your lathe on the OWWM.org and OWWM.com web sites. If you need parts or "how to" info check in with these folks.

They also have listing of born-on dates based on the serial numbers.

Also, you might enjoy meeting some other turners from your local turning club. Check out the AWW.org web site and bore down to the local club's. A couple of lessons from an experienced turner will advance your understanding of the machine and the turning process.

Best regards, Tom, in Douglasville, GA.

Thanks for the suggestion on AAW ( http://www.woodturner.org ?)

I had looked as some of their materials online months ago, but now I have the lathe! There's a local chapter meeting Tuesday. I think I should crash that party. Thanks.
