    Updated picnic table & benches

After redoing our deck surface, our old picnic table looked pretty shabby. The top boards were shot, but the support pedestal was still in very good condition as were the stools. So I decided to update it and the stools that go with it. We liked the look of the Veranda decking so we decided to get a different color to coordinate with the house color and contrast from the deck color. The top is about 42 inches across and all the pieces are attached with stainless screws from underneath so no surface fasteners show. I also left no gaps between the boards. The tricky part was getting the center pieces attached and working from the bottom side. I cut all the 22.5 degree angles with my Kreg crosscut guide and all the octogons came out perfect the first time with no fussing to get the angles and lengths just right. Here is the result.

Wow! What a misleading title. I wasn't expecting such a fine piece of furniture. Great job!

Excellent!! That is some fine work, and a beautiful setting, too, I might add! The matching stools are a nice touch.

You got that deck looking first class over-all which is a complitment to the first class view off of it.

    Well done...
