Just so everyone will have a better understanding of WHY I will NOT be posting a lot of pics this year......

I sharpened over FORTY(40) turning tools, chisels, knives and such!! I was lucky though....David Rose forgot to bring his bushhog blades with him again this year.!!! I guess I'll get to keep my stone for a little while longer know since I didn't have to work over Rose's bushhog blades!!

The Tormek and almost every accessory I have (minus the skew jig and new micro-adjust for the Tormek) got a LOT of working out this BBQ. Next year....I'll have to have at least TWO Tormek's running at the same time to keep up with the demand. Steve Clardy walked in with an ARM LOAD turning tools and some I had to do Free Hand on the Tormek because some of the tools he had are "custom" shapes and grinds........and the whole time the KC boys were keeping me pretty busy with "hey....I need you to put me another edge on this bowl gouge" thing while they were turning that ROCK of a piece of wood called Walnut.

Hey Chris....I got that rock...I mean walnut here. I will need you address so I can send it to you when I get it done.
Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,

Thanks for having us, and thanks for the turning lessons boys. That was one heck of a chuk of walnut. I got Chris back to the airport with all of his stuff.

The airport folks weren't too happy with the weight of the luggage though.

Shoot, we have so many threads going on this, I can't keep track of what I said where so....thank, again, Terry...awesome job!

Scott, UA ended up only taking one end off and then wondered why the machine tripped and "told them" to look further into the box. I think they repacked it better than we did! Everything arrived safe and sound back home here in San Jose!

Awesome weekend, Terry!

Terry,
Thanks for such a fantastic weekend! What a great time we all had. This was my first one of these and I know it won't be my last. It is so nice to meet so many of my online friends in person. Can't wait until next year.

The thanks should go to you and Cheryl, Terry! You guys are to be commended for all the hard work you put forth to host the BBQ. Terry stood watch over the smoker for 13 hours on Friday and Cheryl worked her job and then came home to cater to everyone. To say nothing of all the hard work both of you endured before any of us got there. The BBQ food was fantastic, we never went hungry the whole time we were there. The brisket was the best I have ever had!

We had a great time and thanks to eveyone who attended....it was great to finally meet you guys. I really enjoyed talking to everyone.

Terry, your shop looks even better in person. I wish I had my camera ready when we moved the lathe though....WE FOUND DUST!!

I got a bunch of pics, but it will be a few days until I can get them posted...I have a new tablesaw to put together first.

Another thanks to Dennis Peacock for putting a new edge on my Leatherman knife! That thing was on it's last leg. You're a wizard on that Tormek! Thanks also for donating that great trivet to the mix of prizes. We have been slowly collecting them since we got married.

Speaking of that, this was our 7th anniversary trip...it was so nice for the wife to let me spend so much time at the shop. I had to concede to Friday morning breakfast and some time at the campsite, but that was a small price to pay for a great weekend. Jana had a great time overall (she got really tired on Friday nite, though) and thought everyone was very nice. She really enjoyed talking to the wives in attendance.

We went on up to Eureka Springs on Sunday for a couple of hours before heading back home. Sure was a neat place, but I could never live there! It's a curio shoppers dreamland. I had to promise to return someday to peruse the shops. Won't be too hard to do cause there's a lot of sightseeing involved.

Terry, you were right, I felt like I was back in the 70's for a few hours...

Thanks again Terry! I will post a new thread when I get the webpage up this week. Hope to see you guys again next month here in Texas!!

I agree the thanks are for Terry and Cheryl. Your hospitality was outstanding. Great eats, great company and for me being the baby of the group (woodworking wise) I learned a lot of techniques. Can't wait till next year!

Terry and Cheryl... I don't know what to say. You "did it up" this year even more spectacularly than in the past. You are just awesome host and hostess. It takes real talent to work so hard and yet look so laid back most of the time.

All the prizes, all the food and the extra brought in, the "workers"... the whole thing was priceless.

But the new friends and renewed friendships really are what "make" it. Thanks to the place, host and hostess, and great eats it was possible.

I just got an email from Bobby Hatfield. Add his name to those who have said "they wish they could have been here". He was fighting with some new medication.
