    Tutorial for Making Story Stick

Where can I find one? In a book or magazine.

A story stick I have ever used was just scrap wood. 3/4" X 1/4" or so. Use a pencil to make your mark.

Is there something special you are trying to do?

There was an article some time back in Fine Woodworking on using story sticks. Check their online index.

Also I think that The Wood Wisperer web blog/podcast had something about it some time ago!

    Yep...
    1. Pull piece of scrap out of bin.
    2. Set alongside item that you're taking measurements from.
    3. Mark measurements on story stick.
    4. Put story stick alongside of piece to be cut/worked on.
    5. Transfer measurements accordingly.
