    For the Vets

My LOML asked that I make a flag base for my Grandaughter's classroom. She is in Pre-K, and has no flag/base-nor flag. Within an hour, I had this to deliver to the kids. I grabbed some scrap, set up the machines and went at it. It now has a dedicated area on the teacher's desk.
The Flag is from my son's grave from the National Cemetary and I felt compelled to have it displayed in the classroom.

Thank You Veterans, and Welcome Home.

Nice job on the flag stand, Dan. And, along with the nation today, your service to our country is appreciated. More than that, the ultimate price paid by your son is remembered and honored. I am sure this is a difficult day for you, and our thoughts are with you and others similarly situated.

I am fortunate to have three sons that served, and I am mindful everyday of the sacrifice our troops make for our liberty.

Dan as I was reading your post I was thinking to my self that we always had a flag in our classroom in elementary school. We said the Pledge everyday. Its good that you provided something they were missing. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Thank you for your service to you and everyone else on this board that served.

Was your son a Uncle to your granddaughter? Either way I'm sure she is proud to display it.

Thanks for your sons service Dan

I teared up when I saw this post Dan. I know in my heart of hearts that your son is looking down and would be proud to know his sacrifice was not in vain and lives on through the next generation.

I give my utmost respect and gratitude on this special day to your son and family.

I wish to extend to you my thanks for the kind responses. I took my grandaughter to school the other morning and the teacher stated that the morning schedule now starts with the Pledge of Allegiance. Considering all my other little projects, this turned to be a most honored gift to so many people.

    Again, Thank You.
    Regards,
    Dan Manning
