Some nice wood from a couple of years ago. I roughed it out and it has been sitting on the rack covered in dust all this time. Glad I got around to finishing it - I had forgotten about the nice figure/color in this piece.

Beautiful work Mark! Great looking wood! Really like how you hollowed it out through a natural opening! Adds a lot to the piece!
Real nice photo work as well! Thanks for sharing!

mark - really nice form. love that natural look on the opening - took skill to not add any diameter to that!
Great form and I agree that the natural opening is wonderful. I really, really like this piece.
Beautiful shape Mark. Well done.

Gotta agree with all the above Mark. Hollowing through that natural openning sure made for a unique pice. Fantastic grain flow and fits you form so well...Bill..
Well that would have been a beauty of a hollow form no matter how you did the opening. But that natural edge just knocks it out of the park!
Agreed on the natural edge; very impressive piece to say it mildly. I'm going to have to try this sometime soon. You've inspired me. Thanks for sharing, really!!
Wonderful! Looks like it has some curl!
I'd sure like to have watched you hollow that one out Great results!
