    Pistache NE

Here's a piece of chinese pistache turned pretty thin... maybe 1/16th or less. About 10 inches tip to tip and 4 or 5 inches tall. Finished with Antique Oil.

You may remember that I destroyed a piece of this a while back... this is the other piece of that log. I love turning this stuff, but the wood is hard to come by.

Great job on that piece. Little thin for my taste but that is just me. Really nice looking wood.

  5. That is one of the nicest NEs I've seen posted on any forum. Beautiful wood and the thin walls really work on this one for me.

Very impressive bowl David! Love the wood and the way the NE frames the sapwood! Being as thin as you turned it - must be as light as a feather! Very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Nice job. The bark on that must be fairly stable. I have been using ash and the bark is usually over 1" thick with a lot of high and low areas. Your's looks great with the thinner bark and the grain colors and shape really add to the beauuty of the peice.
