Thread: Mailbox project

    Mailbox project

Built this for a neighbor who wanted a bigger version of one I had built
for myself. The columns are hollow and slip over posts set in concrete.
I'd forgotten how much time it really takes to design, build, and finish
even a straightforward workpiece like this.

That is pretty neat! What materials did you use? Of course, I guess the only real exposure in S. CA is sun and rain. Speaking of - we had snow today, and I see that everything there is still green and the sun is shining!

Thanks for the compliment. It's made out of mdo ply and redwood. The
    posts are pressure treated 4X4's.

Very nice project Martin. I might just "lift" the design as a mailbox has been on my list for a while. I share a long driveway with 2 other houses and our mailboxes are currently a hodge-podge.

    That's a nice design that signals "up-scale". Great job~
