know anything about a Famous 32" band saw?

Somebody's selling one with a 2hp motor for $500. No guards on the wheels. He says it works. Says William H. Field Co., Fieldbuilt, Boston.

What do you know about these? What would it likely take to rehab/bring up to date? Would it be a good resaw machine?

    Thanks,

    Nelson

According to OWWM.com, Field was mostly a dealer. Since your saw says "Famous", it's probably a Sidney. Here's a link: http://owwm.com/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=750&tab=0

From the pictures I've seen, Sidney made pretty good equipment. After a full rehab, that machine should be able to withstand decades of resawing and other hard work. 2hp seems light, but it could be fairly small (i.e., maybe only 20 or 24 inches).
