    sorby micro shear scraper sharpening

I managed to lose my sorby micro shear scraper instruction sheet and was wondering if any of you have one and can recall what the sharpening routine was. I believe you hone the top/bottom flat surfaces on a diamond stone but I'm not entirely sure. It's probably the same way for the bigger multi scraper.

    cheers

I don't think I ever read the instructions. I do sharpen it, the flat side, on a diamond hone. It works very well.

The Sorby Site has downloadable instructions.

I use a cheapo diamond hone.

I never read the instructions for mine either. I sharpen mine completely differently. I sharpen it exactly the same way I do my other scrapers -- with approximately a 75-80 degree bevel all around it. I just sharpen the edges quickly on the grinder. I don't hone the flats at all. Works great. I like it that way better than the out-of-the-box square edges.
