I have some finished walnut bookcase parts which I am about to assemble. The final finish was shellac and I want to use T-88 epoxy, which cleans off with white vinegar. Does anyone know if vinegar will harm the finish? I plan to steel wool & wax it after assembly. I know some will think epoxy is overkill/messy, but this piece has through tenons & I'm concerned a light colored glue line will show. I could stain the glue, did that recently with titebond & transtint, so far seems to have worked well , but don't know about long term heavy use & that?
