Ripping Up a Perfectly Good Workbench Top

Well, it was perfect before I dropped it... Now it has cracks in the section I'm cutting off. It's just too heavy as is for one person to move easily. I thought about stopping before I added the last board - I remember thinking it was just at the edge of portability. Oh well, looks like there's a tool tray in my future.

Apropos of nothing I thought I would show some sawing, my rip saw cuts pretty well in spite of a mediocre sharpening job by yours truly:

Instead of one of those dust and chip catcher recess's, you might consider adding some sliding pieces to the bottom in a 3 sided recess and mounting the piece you cut off on them for a pull out extension on that side of the table and if you decide you need the dust catcher, just open the extension a ways and lay a thin board in the bottom to hold tools and dust, anyway it would be easy to clean just take it out. FWIW
