what is Going On?

What is going on with the Milwaukee 6950-20 compound sliding miter saw? It was pushed out of Home Depot at a really low price and now I see it on sale on Amazon for $479 with free shipping thats still a savings over the original HD price of 549, but not as low as HD's blowout price of 299 a few weeks ago.

Is the 6955 going to take over for the 6950?

Acutally, in my area at least, it was the 6955-20 that HD was letting go for $299.

Is there a big difference between the two? And now that you mention it the one that was on sale at my HD was the 55 and the one on sale on Amazon is the 50.

I want to say it's the digital angle finder but there could be other differences. too.

I'm wondering what the plan here as well. I've used mine a lot and it works great, so I'm curious as to why its discontinued. Further, it was a relatively new saw, not like its out of date tech wise with the only exception being lack of laser which seems to get a lot of attention these days.
