    Different take onanOland

I made this tool to use in conjunction with Jeff's "drill bit hollower" when turning boxes. It uses standard or carbide router bits rather than the hss square bits. It does a great job of eliminating all the tear out on the end grain box floor and walls. Pictured with a core box bit installed that has a radiused profile and a beading veining/bit below. I've found it a joy to use and flexiable cutting angles just by rotating the amount of exposed cutting edge..Bill...

Bill, some of this stuff is foreign to me, so I need a bit more info. Did you counterbore the shaft of the tool? And, if so, how?

What type of bit is in the tool? Is a closer shot possible?

Thanks, and sorry for the multiple questions.

John I just drilled a 1/4" hole in the end of the shaft and a hole on top to accept a 1/4X20 set screw. The bit is an old craftsman core box router bit. Just like an oland tool but the hole for the bit is a different size than the 3/8 hole needed for the oland tool...Bill..
