    DC - Delta 50-850 input port(s)

I'm in the process of designing a DC system for my 3-car garage "wood shop".

I've got a Delta 50-850, 1200 CFM. It has an input flange with two 4" ports. Underneath the flange, it looks like a 6" input.

Has anyone taken off the dual 4" input, and replaced it with a 6" port?

The reason for the question...I would like to connect a 6" main to this 6" input on the collector itself.

    Thoughts or comments greatly appreciated!

I have the harbor freight 2hp unit and it a 5" port under the dual 4" connectors. I use the 5" port with 10' of 5" flex hose. Dont have anything to compare it to, so to me it works ok.

Dave is right, except on the Delta when you remove the "Y" inlet manifold it is now a 6" port. At least mine is.

That dual 4" port is the first thing you should take off and throw away! It is choking the inlet of your dust collector.

Maybe that's the reason I've never been happy with my DC.

    Thumbs up Thanks!

Indeed...taking off the dual-4" port fitting reveals a 6" port!

    PERFECT!

    Thanks for the inputs!
