Knowing that some people use handheld, flexible cabinet scrapers to smooth/level the O.D. of their turnings, I wanted to try this technique without buying anything. Old, worn out hacksaw blade to the rescue. A couple passes across the fine grinder wheel with the back edge of the blade raises a nice burr, and the thing works wonderfully well. Can scrape or shear scrape, and vary the curvature as needed. I know you all have perfect tool control and don't get those annoying little hills and valleys like I do, maybe only a few thousandths deep but easier and faster to scrape level than sand.

Like most handheld tools, this has potential for personal injury so I am NOT suggesting that you try this at home. Just making a report. Maybe could make a little handle for each end of the blade. Be careful out there.
