    Third bowl

Haven't posted here in ages, but just finished a bowl to give to my mother-in-law, so tried to snag a couple pictures before she leaves town with it. This is from a piece of cherry from her son's property in the North Georgia mountains. 7.5" diameter, 3" high. Danish oil and buffed. Plenty of room for improvement! Thanks for looking.

Steve, pretty low resolution on the pics, but from what I can see it looks very nice. Nice history to the wood, and I am sure she will appreciate it very much.

Yea, I pretty much had to shoot it by candlelight, need to get some stronger bulbs. Advantage of the poor resolution is that you cannot see the scratches remaining from the sanding...

Nice looking bowl. I have only turned one cherry bowl out of a piece of firewood but it does look nice. (The wood that is!)
Yours has a nice history to it which makes it even better.

Steve, I like the form of this bowl. The cherry is nice, as is the finish.

Pretty wood and a nice, simple form. I like it a lot. I wish we had cherry around here.
