Types Of Wood - On-Line Resource?

    Hi!

Does anyone know of an on-line resouse that shows pictures
of different kinds of wood? Grain, color, etc...

Since I am new to this I have no idea what the difference
between Big Leaf Maple, and Curly Maple, and Spalted Curly
Maple, etc... are. Or Myrtle and Figured Myrtle, etc...

Want to order some blanks so would like to know what I am getting. LOL!

    Thanks,

    James

    Hi James,

    Welcome to SMC!

Here is a site with pictures of several hundred different types/species of wood. Warning if you are on a dialup -- it will take a while to load.

I guess my public must be pretty huge then.

    Thanks!

    Just what the doctor ordered.

These Forums should have a reference place where things like this could
be stored. I am sure it would be found to be very helpful to many people here.

    Anyway, thanks again.

    Regards,

    James
