Work Area before and after (mini gloat)

My work are is a section of my garage. I'm not by nature an organized person, so it was a jumbled mess. A friend suggested I add a 2nd workbench for the power tools. So I did. What a difference. Still haven't gotten around to cleaning and organizing, I've been too busy making sawdust.

First two are before. 3rd is after it was built, but prior to tools. 4 & 5 are now.
Can't really see it in #4, but the miter saw is now of the floor on the blue cabinet to the right.

My wife would go into convulsions if she saw my shop looking like that first picture. Things just seem to go better in a clean shop.

"Oh look honey, now I have room for a BIG lathe"

Getting the shop clean and organized is easy, keeping it that way is the real chore!

    Lookin good,

Rich, My wife doesn't even see that corner of the garage. She has developed selective vision for that and our son's room.

Actually, she wants to get out there and help me "clean and organize". That's her euphemism for throw away 80% of everything.

Nice job. Since you have all that experience, if you're ever out west, stop by.

Scott, you made me feel much better.

My shop isn't as bad as yours started out and your organization gives me hope that I might find (take) the time to rearrange and reorganize.

There is hope for me yet!

Well done Scott! Not only looks much better but IMHO you have a much safer work area now.

    I don't get it...

I don't get it. I looked at the first two pictures and saw a shop. What was the problem?

My number one rule for keeping the shop clean is that every time I enter, I put ten things away. Ten tools, ten scraps of wood, or even ten screws, but it keeps the place a little cleaner and a little safer!

Looking good there - you've definitely need to start mentioning all the space you have for that big lathe...
