    Don't stay logged in..........

Not very computer savy here and I'm sure it's a simple setting issue but.....

Not just SMC but other places as well, Facebook etc... even though I'm checking"stay logged in" or "remember me" I am not stying logged in or being remembered.

What am I missing here? Using AOL/IE. I have cleared cookies and browsing history multiple times.

    TIA,

Don't clear the cookies. Leave them turned on. The cookie has your log in information in it so you don't have to log back in. If the site looks for the info and it is not there, it will want you to log back in. If it still requires you to log in after you turn the cookies on, you probably have a security setting on that clears the cookies at closing of the brouser. Take a look at your brousers security settings. Hope this helps....

Sorry. I was not clear in the original post. I cleared the cookies etc... and then went back to the assorted sights to reset them and still don't stay logged in after that. Interestingly enough seems to be OK now with SMC but the others...not so much.

I think your problem is AOL/IE, switch to Firefox.....I have no problems staying logged in both at work and and home. Both locations use Firefox, which is free.

First of all, GET RID OF AOL/IE!!
I also suggest using Firefox, but if you're set on using IE, go to Microsoft's website, and download IE. Once you have downloaded a different browser, get rid of AOL/IE. It just adds a bunch of useless toolbars and junk that do nothing for you.

    Firefox (Recommended): http://tinyurl.com/d9pp59
    IE 8 (Recommended over AOL/IE): http://tinyurl.com/c3alnl

I also know Google Chrome is good, as well as Safari

    Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome
    Safari: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Keep in mind when downloading any of these, is that it's just good practice to do a custom install and go through the defaults until/if you see an option to install a toolbar. Make sure you specify to not install it. They do nothing that the browser itself can't. Although I know that Firefox does not do that.
