Nice. It's visually striking. The second photo almost makes me think their are stairsteps inside the form.
Mike that is so cool and also beautiful.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
That is really neat there. It sure catches the eye! Is there a link to that method?
Mike,
Very NEAT ! At first, I kept tryng to " adjust my set" , then i relized that I was seeing it on digial and not the old TV set . Provacative idea and very clever execution. Keep 'em coming!

Dick Mahany.
Mike, very nice as always. Steve, if you search "bowl from a board" on Google, you will find articles by Edward Burlington that give a nice explaination of the technique. Endless possibilities.
Nice Bowl. What type of glue is used on one of those bowls?
Donny
Well, it is maple and walnut, so it has a really good head start!! Nicely done, Mike. I like the illusion, and you did a great job pulling it off. Probably not my cup of tea, but a great piece, nonetheless.
This may be a good example of Curt's ongoing thread on craft vs. art. This piece has a lot of "craftsmanship" in that the glue up, the turning, the form - all are done extremely well. The "art" lies in the combination of the "slices" and the choice of woods, all in combination with the form resulting in a visual impact that may appeal to one's sense of beauty. At that point, it becomes a crap shoot on whether it will appeal to everyone. I suspect that any piece of art will never appeal to all that see it.
Really like the 3-d effect Mike! Pretty cool!

Nice bowl Mike, very well done.
Always drink upstream of the herd.
Very nice. I have trouble focusing on the first picture!
Yeah, I'm a little dizzy myself. I have to say Mike, that you "love a good challenge", and you always seem to pull it off professionally and with heart.
Very well done, as always, and certainly admire your skills.
