Just cause the sets don't have it doesn't mean they don't still make it.

You can't reasonably expect a company to make parts for there tools forever. If the miter box is a guarteed forever tool, then they should replace it without a problem. I kinda doubt it is though, I wouldn't really consider it to be a hand tool.

You aren't going to get parts for ANYTHING 10 years old. That miter box looks just like mine,(which I only EVER used to install trim in my house). I THINK it's a Jorgenson. Can't be sure, and it's up on a high shelf in the shop. All you need to know is how far apart the holes are. you could buy a longer saw,and use a masonry drill to drill out another hole. Run it FAST,and do clamp the blade down, with a piece of hardwood under it to catch the point of the bit.

Nope, it has the basic crummy wrenches in it. The better sets and the sets with the ratchet wrenches they don't make with all the sizes.

    Like this one:

    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...on+Wrench+Sets

    It says in the specs:
    "5/16 to 3/4 in., 8 to 18mm"

But then you read further and it is not 8-18 it is missing 9, 11, 16?

    "and metric sizes 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18mm."

It is not like it is a small set they don't even make thoes sizes in a ratchet set no matter what you spend.

or here is there big eurgonomic set polished

Craftsman 26 pc. Standard & Metric Full Polish 12 pt. Cross Force Combination Wrench Set
$329 and it doesn't have all the sizes. This is what I wanted to buy but I want allt he sizes. Sorry to rant just seems silly to me.

Surely someone makes blades for those.

If it is, check Lee Valley. They sell the three Nobex miter saws, and replacement blades for them.

I see it like this-if a retailer sells you a durable good such as this, and after 10 yrs. no longer supports it, why should you support them? Woodcraft is great for this. I don't know how many products I have purchased there, that they no longer support, the Nobex being only one of them.

Delta is another one, and it's a major reason I'll no longer be spending money on their products.

Gary, I think you are being a little unfair to Sears as well. The tool is 10 years old and you're not the original owner. Most manufacturers these days carry parts for the minimum 7 years they are required to by law and not much longer than that unless you happen to have a part they used for a number of years after you bought your tool.

I've seen blades like you describe at various tool sites and catalogs. Cutting one shorter and drilling a new hole won't bee too hard for any competent machinist if you can't do it for yourself.

You do realize you were the talk of the store that day. The Sears staff couldn't stop laughing about the slimy, grifter, huckster that came in trying to get something for an old piece of junk.

OK guys, all I wanted was to get a saw blade for the saw!!! After not being able to find the blade or any other blade that is 24" long the anger started to settle in. After all, Sears if any body should support there products for more then 10 years. If you had bought the saw new you would have expected it to last more than 10 years.
Anyway the store contacted me and said that costumer service said to offer a store credit and that they couldn't explain why any blades were not available. I was happy with the fact that they agreed that it wasn't unreasonable for me to expect to be able to buy blades for that saw.

Ten Bucks and the store gave me a 25 dollar give card! They never asked what I wanted and if they had, I would of asked for the ten bucks I had in it.
Again, I really wanted the saw to be useful, not to put the weenie to Sears.

Have you tried looking on line??
I justspewnt about 15-20 minutes using Google with “hand miter saw blades” and “hand miter saws” and found among other things:

    http://hand-tools.hardwarestore.com/...-box-saws.aspx

Rockler has similar miter boxes and saws, call them about a replacement blade??

Try calling Jorgenson/Adjustable clamp who makes a similar box and saw:

Sorry, but asking for anything was wrong. It is the reason their policy isn't what it used to be. Asking for anything for a tool you bought used is abuse. You should have checked on availability befroe purchase, not in hindsight.

I'm sorry. I normally don't complain about people. This reminds me of 30 years ago when i saw lady at Sears throwing a fit becauise they wouldn't warrentee an electrical blanket that looked like it was 40 years old.

    Yep

Sears is now owned by Kmart. And you expect friendly service and parts for an old tool ?

Craftsman's lifetime warranty is on hand tools only. Does not include power tools, blades, or accessories. I know this because my dad has always been a Craftsman man and I like their screwdrivers and pliers and such. Break the saw and take it in and see if they do something about it.

I took in an old ratchet one time that was broke and they gave me the newest one with more teeth on the gear to ratchet in a smaller place since they no longer carried the one I had.
    I'm a Joe of all trades. It's a first, it'll catch on.
