    5" flex hose to 4" machine adpater

    Hello,
    I appologize if this is been answered but the search function would not allow me to enter 5" or 4" and with a million replies I just gave up.

    At any rate, I have a HF dust collector with 5" flex hose. I am trying to find a source for an adapter I can mate to the hose that I can then connect to my jointer or planer or table saw as I move the dust collector from tool to tool. It seems I need 5" OD to 4" ID. No one local to me has such a thing (I can find 5" ID to 4" ID but my hose won't fit on it).

    Grizzly has something for about $40, but it looks rather long and may be awkward to use, and they also have the ID to ID PVC adapter that won't work for me.

    Anyone found such a thing?

    If you are talking about the HF 2HP dust collector (Current model #97386 I believe) the fitting that came with it is a 5" to dual 4" Y fitting. Replacements are available from Harbor Freight's parts department.

    You can also go take a look at the online catalog for Air Handling Systems and then give them a call with the exact OD of your machine port. They have spun metal reducers that will let you make the transition easily. It's a bit more expensive solution than a plastic step adaptor, BUT the air flow will be smoother and the dust pick up on the machine will be correspondingly more efficient.

    I use one of these:

    I can just move the 5" hose with quick connect on the end to where I need it and use the 5 to 4 reducer as well.
    oops ....1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 - yup all there, whew!

    Thanks to all. I will give Oneida a try, their adapter is cheap enough that if it does not work, I am not out too much.

    You can always hand crimp the reduced end if it's a smidgen too tight for the hose.
