If someone else already posted this, my apologies.

I finally got around to installing my MJ splitter yesterday. I have an early '90s model Craftsman saw and the rear pin on the splitter is a little too long (actually, the insert in that area is too thin). Instructions recommend trimming the pin(s) over the flange for the insert but I didn't want to do that in case I get to upgrade down the road.

I noticed after drilling the holes for the splitter in the insert that the bit had left a little dent in the insert flange so I got a 1/8" bit (one size up from the 7/64 used for drilling the splitter holes) and drilled through the flange. Now the splitter fits perfectly and I don't have to cut the pins on it.

Hope this helps someone out. DB
