I got my Japanese dovetail saw and dovetail angle thing from Lee Valley today. This was my second attempt.

    Beautiful looking dovetail Shawn.
Now you've got to build a project with a few drawers in it...

    Ditto

Second what everyone else has said . . . the way those look it's doubtful Rob Cosman could do better!

Man Shawn, I'm not sure I would want to make a 3rd. Like they say - quit while your ahead. That is one fine looking DT.

Shawn, you have this down pat!! I would take that set and build something around it!

Seriously - some very nice work!

Wow very nice. My first through current attempts have more gaps in them than a politician's testimony. Looking foward to the rest of the project.

    Ha!

Good one. Yep, some people like this guy have it at the outset, some of us don't. My first dovetailed box was about 50% wood filler. Heck, my dovetails still don't look like his. Blast!!

Thank you all, I have seen many beautiful things several of you that posted have made and and hope to one day be able to match that kind of skill.

Gary- I think I will but not with near as many drawers as your project was, those cabinets were outstanding.

Jeff- I actually watched several videos on Youtube including Rob Cosman.

I actually am hesitating and doing any today because they probaly won't be near as good.

you will have days when you will lay out a set , pick up that saw, and they will look truly amazing.... other days, you will just sorta scratch your head ... put that lesson aside, and look at those nice ones you cut earlier....

    Very nice, Shawn.

I've done about 10 and my best attempts don't look nearly that nice.
