    Canjo Plans Needed

Does anyone have a plan for a canjo?

This is a musical instrument(maybe) that can be make from almost anything from cigar boxes to beer cans.

I'm looking more in the beer can variety.

They will be for the grandkids so they will be of the pop can or Bush Beans can and single string type

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Jim

    More info

can be found if you google stick-dulcimer

    edit:
here is a link that has some discussion of making a two string instrument that indicates fret spacing.
    http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=25849

and here is a fret calculator for a diatonic instrument
    http://www.mimf.com/archives/dulcimer_fretcalc.htm

Try here it may be what you are looking for. Determine the scale length

    http://www.bluestemstrings.com/pageB...nTips2.html#11

and then figure the fret spacing

    Hope that helps
