    Rough Out Parking

So, I have a cluttered small shop area and a growing bunch of rough outs. I thought about shelves, but that takes materials, time, and an appropriate space. Then I decided to try a 50 cent lag hook screwed intoa joist, some shoelaces, and a few knots. Seems to work, will fit in any spare corner, and is easily removed. Oh yeah, and super cheap.

    Great idea, Sean!

I might have to "borrow" that.

Perfect!!! Good air flow...probably work better than putting them on some surface. Or are these already dry?

Great! I hoped someone else might find the idea useful.

And now you know where to find your shoelaces too...

Nope, just roughed this weekend. I like to just paint 'em with anchorseal and wait at least a few months. Usually, when the rim is visibly warped, you know it's done some drying and movin and is near ready.

    Re-living the 60's

Wow, it looks like macrame has made a comeback! I knew there was some old hippies still out there in the world!

Great idea and looks to be working well for you i your shop. I have a 2500 foot rool of parachute cord that would work very well for the process.

Thanks for a darn good idea,

    Jeff

And, what a great way to store all those other items you just know you are someday going to find a use for!! Fill up the bowls and clear off the benches and tables!

It's like a mobile for turners. I could lay on my back in the shavings and be mesmerized by the gentle sway of roughed out bowls. Nice idea.

    Thumbs up

Sean, thanks for the great idea.
Makes a good decoration while waiting to re-turn.
Maybe I could take them into the house.
But afraid the one I must obey will put plants into them.
