Paul, I really admire your work and attention to detail. Your design works well with this room. It makes it very inviting and cozy. When it's fully furnished, I think your work will stand out even more. A truly great job!

    Thumbs up

Paul, "We want you to do some more stuff for us" means they really liked the results. It's the ultimate complement. I can certainly see why.

    Alan,
All of the window trim was done in MDF. That was done in order to have the arch portion of all three windows match the vertical trim, all other trim is poplar. I would have done it in wood and done a profile on it but the client did not want to spring for the extra $$$. What you can not see is that all the window trim has a beaded trim installed on both the inside and outside edge. The mantel both upper and lower is poplar (stlye & rails), cabinet grade plywood and of course the cherry top for the lower mantle.
Alan T. Thank God for every pain free day you live.

Looks great Paul! You should be Very Proud!!

A question.... Did you do anything to seal the MDF before the painters got to it?

    Brian
The significant problems we encounter cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.

The penalty for inaccuracy is more work

    Brian,
Nope the painters primed and painted it themselves. I do believe though they primed the MDF then sanded it and applied two coats of finish
