    Turning Wood

Well finally got some wood ordered. Been waiting for a bit for it since Mike has been gone BUT I finally got some Claro Walnut before the famous John Keeton got his hands on it. Also got some mimosa and holly. The Claro is for potpourri pots that my sister ordered for Christmas gifts including the 3 x 3 claro which will be ornaments along with the holly.

That looks like a box of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing them round, smooth, and shiny.

Ok. New wood and new steady rest. Now it's really time to get to work.

Bernie, that is some cool wood. I think you'll like the mimosa, but be forewarned (if you are not familiar) - it will turn your hands blacker than walnut will, and seems to me to be caustic on cast iron.

Bernie, you are going to enjoy that load!! The mimosa really looks nice - Mike tried to get me to take some, and I wish I had.

Thanks all. I think this is going to be a fun load to turn. Like I said in the other thread if grandma will stay home long enough now so I can turn something. But I guess I shouldn't complain since they are 4 hrs away instead of 23 hrs.

John I hope that mimosa turns out as pretty as the wood looks. I have turned one piece and loved it is the reason I got more.
