    OmniJig 7216 router bit angle?

I've dusted off my old OmniJig which hasn't been used in years. I think a new router bit is in order and have forgotten all about what's needed.
Anybody have a clue on the dovetail angle or better yet, a part# from Amana or CMT or Whiteside?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks Mike

I spent a good twenty minutes googling before I posted my question here on SMC. Seems everything made before the internet has little documentation. 7 degrees seems to be what I need for half blind dovetails.

So far, I've ascertained that the new omnijig seems to works just like the old one without all the cast iron.

Any input from experienced users of these devices will be appreciated.
    Thanks everybody for your efforts.

Interesting to say the least. Porter Cable supplied a 14° bit.
Whiteside supplies a 14° bit as the replacement.

How did you come up with 7°? Are you making 1/4" dovetails?

    Owners manual ...

The 5116 is the 16" version of your jig.

The manual is available online. PM me if you want me to email you a copy. It has all the part numbers for the bits, but more important how to setup and tweak the machine so it actually works.

I'm thinking CMT's #818.635.11 on this site http://www.cmtutensili.com/show_item...s=RB~7/8/918~2 is what I've gathered is the correct bit for making 1/2 blind dovetails.

    Amana shows #45838 at http://www.amanatool.com/routerbits/...its-45837.html

maybe these ARE for the new model

Porter Cable calls out a 43705 in the ORIGINAL manual (thanks Robert) http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/docu...n%20888381.pdf which shows to be 14 degree half inch dovetail bit.

If you take the list I posted above and search that porter cable part number you will see the exact bits they use. The omnijig uses 14 degree dovetail bits for half blind. Then just order the cooresponding bit from whomever you like. Pretty sure I bought all the bits from Brian in Whiteside brand as well.

Plus - if you want Mike H - I have about 5-6 of the 1/4" shank porter cable bits I bought on clearence at a show one time. Send me your mailing address and I will put one in the mail for you if you want a 1/4" bit.

Look below on that list towards the bottom and you will see it call out omnijig and 14 degree.
