    Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Here it is. Please don't be too hard on me.

Is there anything that can help get water based stain off of plastic glasses lenses? A burst of wind came up and my new glasses are a very pretty speckled. Thanks for your help.

Rubbing alcohol should work I would think. Same stuff they give you at the doc to clean them with.

Remove the lenses from the frame. Make two "holders" using some stiff electrical wire (think pyramid shape, with a handle). Bring several cups of water to a boil in a saucepan and set the lenses in the boiling water. Keep it simmering on low, checking occasionally (now you know why you need a holder with handle). Depending on the stain, it can take anywhere from 30 min to 3 hours to clear. Make sure the pan doesn't run dry.

Alcohol based wet wipes will do it.
Any glass cleaner w/ammonia that's safe for plastic will also work.

I get paint/stain splatters on my glasses all the time.

Be glad it's the stain and not shellac or acrylic.....
