Hi Don, I have been asked to make four kitchen chairs to go with a table I recently made. I've never made any chairs and know you make them all the time and I wondered what kind you normally make?

Dennis, I usually make chairs that take either caned or rush seats because that is what I am centered on in my old age. Of course you will need chairs that complement the table and thus you will need to design or find a design that accomplishes this end. Once you get into it you will find that making chairs is not the tremendous challenge it appears to be. Some chairs are more difficult than others, but as in everything in life the journey starts with a single step. Find or make your design and then don't be afraid to get with it.
