Quick Review Of Kobalt 10" sliding miter saw

    Hello,

Just bought a Kobalt Sliding miter saw at Lowes of course. This is just for portable use. I have a Makita LS1016FL in my shop.

The Kobalt saw was well aligned right out of the box. It cuts very straight and well. Easy to change angles, + Blades. Dust collection bag doesn't work well. For $169 this was a bargain.

Boy, when you say "quick", you mean quick!

I'd be interested in reading a follow-up review later on after you've beaten it up on a few jobs. How well does it hold up under use, etc. I'd like to get a slider, but I can't really justify the $500+ cost of most of them, but I could probably talk myself into a Kobalt when it comes time to put up crown molding in my house. I have an old Makita first generation (no tilting or sliding) miter saw, so with the help of Kreg's Crown Pro (or something simillar) I could still use my old trusty Makita for that job. That's a ways off though--I have a larger plumbing job to do first (cold showers in November aren't much fun.)
