    Another Ornament

    Turned this a couple of days ago. Two points to the person that IDs the "icicle". I thought it was a great re-purpose but then I am prejudice.

    Stats:
    Material = Ball is curly maple, upper and lower are walnut but I believe they might be different species of walnut. The top is much darker. It was a block labeled "black walnut" that I received from John K.
    Height = ~8" (I forgot to measure it)
    Diameter = ~2"
    Finish = Rattle can poly high gloss.

    Nice ornament. I am feeling the pressure to get one of these done. I bet that stem is from a HF that you changed the finial on.

    Probably won't make the meeting, getting ready for a show in Morehead and I maybe setting up that night but if not I may try to be there. (depends on what my partner has planned)

    Sorry, Mark Hubl gets the 2 points. His post was before yours

    James that is a great looking ornament. Really well done.

    Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

    To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.

    Nice job!! I'll echo the lower finial comments, I really like the look of them alot!!
    If at first you don't succeed, look in the trash for the instructions.
