    Boxes

Hey guys... thought I'd post a couple pics of some boxes I recently finished... I'm still pretty new to the whole woodworking thing, so any feedback would be great! All the boxes are oak, with purple heart and brazillian redwood and are finished with natural color danish oil and a couple coats of wipe on glossy poly...Box 3.jpgIMGP3812.jpgIMGP3809.jpgIMGP3819.jpg

I'd be pretty proud of those if they were mine. Nice work!

Your boxes look very good. I think good boxes are deceptively difficult to build...and you did a great job.

The boxes look great, especially the first one. Nice tight miters.

You might try a quick coat of some darker danish oil or an application of a dark shade of Liberon wax sometime. The darker colors will pop out the grain of the oak. I like to sand the surfaces down pretty smooth, with 220 or more, the finer sanding will keep most of the wood lighter and the color will get down into the open grain more.
