New Delta RT-31 with scoring and slider, 3999$ is a good price?

    Good evening all,

I wish to upgrade my shop from my old Bosch contractor saw, and a store offers this (seemingly) good deal on a brand new Delta RT-31 with scoring saw and slider for $ 3999 CDN.

Is this a good deal, but most important of all, a good buy? They say this saw is apparently worth $5700 CDN regular price, and it is hard for me to shop around, this is not a model that the stores are used to carry.

At that price range, would I be better off with another company or model? I mostly do cabinets and custom architectural work on a small scale (2 -3 kitchens a year, mantels and a exterior work).

I can make room for it, and I am pretty sure I'm ready for the slider option!

    Thanks in advance,

    gabriel

Please, please, please? Anyone care to tell me to laugh at that offer and to look at real sliders, or to get on with the program?

    Thanks in advance,

    gabriel

It seems like an incredible deal to me.

Way more saw than a Uni or (dare I say it - gasp!) a Sawstop.

    Smile Slider

I think that's an rt-31 with an add-on sliding table-- much like adding an Excalibur sliding table to a fancy unisaw. If that's true then you would probably be happier with a real slider.
