    File Handles

tool handles.jpgHad a productive day on the lathe today. Made these handles for some of my Nicholson files and rasps. Blackwood, pink ivory, cocobolo and yucatan rosewood.

Very nice! I'll probably have to turn in my "man" card but I like the pink ivory!

The ferules are brass compression fittings off the shelf from the BORG. You turn the end of the wood to the diameter of the threads inside the brass fitting, take it of the lathe and wrench it on. You can then put it back on the lathe and turn the brass. On the pink ivory, I guess I will have to give that one to the LOML to put on her fingernail file.

    Those do look nice.

They would also look good on chisels.
