DW 621 router fine adjust too loose

    Folks -

The fine adjustment depth setting on my dw621 plunge router tends to slowly change as I rout. There doesn't seem to be any way to tighten it, and of course the lock knob only holds the coarse adjustment setting. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes? I'm not the most mechanically deft person, but the fine adjust appears to be a simple screw without anyway to tighten it or lock in a setting. Is it me, or is that poor design? Anyhow, suggestions welcomed. Many thanks -

    Ken

Interesting. I had a problem with this router that I thought was due to the bit creeping out of the collet, but maybe it was the depth adjuster moving. Will have to keep a close eye on it.

I don't own a 621 but it might be possible to put a nut on the adjuster to act as a Jam Nut. Dick B.

Wrap a small pc. of masking tape around adjuster and post, crude but it works.
