Just bought this over the weekend-- the great plan (yah right) is to use this at shows to turn pens.
Still have to buy a few items---foot switch--wood lathe tool rest.
Then I need to built a small work bench/table.
Get some plex for a three sided sheild.
Just thought you folks might get a smile out of the beast.
---I may be broke---but we have plenty of wood---

Just using a bathroom scale it weighs 11 lbs. These little lathes have a working accuracy that should exceed .0005. You would not beleive how well built it is.
Since I only want it for turning pens-- I thought it would be the right size.
I have been using a full size lathe so far. When I get this set up they way I want it I will let you know how it worked out.

You could put a strap on it and put it around your neck. Then you wouldn't be stuck in one spot doing demos while talking to the prospective buyers.
That looks like it will work very well for what you intend!
