Pot Call...it is a friction call for making Turkey sounds

CA is a super glue finish

Thanks, you had best get busy making your son some calls!

I get them from Al at THO Game calls. It is the standard reed set up basically for the industry

Finished these two this morning. Locust and Oak, both recieved the vinegar and steel wool stain

Nice as usual Ken. What is the vinegar stain? Just steel wool dissolved in vinegar? I've heard it mentioned before but not all that familiar with it.

    Thats exactly it Matt

Once you coat the piece in the mixture, you apply heat that makes everything react.

Too late for a pic Ken. Already gave it to the person I made it for. I took a lesson from you and used a torch on that osage. He was pleased.

I have a lot to learn - super glue finish? How does that work? Why would you use it over WOP etc?

Super glue, or CA(short for the long chemical name), is basically a plastic coating that is put on in several layers and as a very durable top coat. It can be buffed to a very high gloss. Gives a very nice finish in a very short time. That is if you can get it perfected, which I tend to struggle with sometimes.

Probably the most used finish for pens and other small objects.
