    red ceder stump

I know that my turnings are simple and not thin , I wanted to share the wood. It is a stump from a red ceder tree. The special thing is the face of a dog in the bowl, I did not fill the holes as this will be a potpourri bowl. This item is 4.5 in. high x 5.25 in wide. The finish is mineral oil and bees wax. That is a nice shape with some great wood! You did a good job utilizing the features of that wood.

I'm surprised you didn't leave the "Bark" on! Nothing wrong with thicker bowls. I thought I needed thin bowls, but the customers wanted some meat on them. Nice piece.

Thin is over rated Dennis. I think it's a fine bowl and it looks like you did a fine job on the inside. You should be proud of your effort!

Dennis, that isn't a pot pourri bowl - it is a doggie bowl, and a fine one at that!! Beautiful wood!
